In Jamaica we were educated in the Queen’s English, so overcoming my discomfort with American spelling and punctuation has been a challenge. Yet, it was a challenge worth overcoming… to the extent that I’ve overcome. The priority was to get a very good message out there, so my conclusion in Jamaican Creole went something like this: “If yu wa’an good, yu nose haffi run!” Now, that’s nowhere near the Queen’s English!

I get the Christian Public Servant devotionals from Regent University’s Robertson School of Government. This morning it included these words: “Too many times, we forget in the (work-day) morning what we learned on bended knee the night before.” My thoughts- if that is happening to you, try taking to “bended knee” in the morning BEFORE the work day starts, rather than at night when it’s all over 🙂
